As soon get a DL without a driving test as the government will issue a Draft Notification regarding driver training centers’ Accreditation
The Ministry of road transport and highways has issued a draft notification regarding the accreditation of driver training centers.
In the order to impart driver training for the citizens. The Ministry has proposed a detailed requirement to be met and procedures to be followed by the center. An official release said on Friday.
The Ministry has also provided that, to any individual completion of driver training from the center. It will be exempted from the requirement of the driver test. While applying for a driving license,” the release added.
This will help the transport industry to have a specially trained driver. According to the release, It will improve their efficiency and reduce road accidents.
The notification of draft issued on 29 January and uploaded on the Ministry’s website for public consultation. It will be formally issued after this stage.
The development comes as the Road Ministry aims to reduce road accidents by half 2025.
Last month they held a meeting of the National Road safety council. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that reducing accidents is not a gradual process. Every stakeholder should treat it as a priority with immediate effect.
He gave an example of Sweden, there is zero-tolerance for road accidents.
The Gadkari asked the state government to motivate people towards achieving safer roads. While suggesting the need for involving NGOs in this area.
